District Governor's Corner

How quickly the 2016-2017 Rotary year passed.  DGE Mike Raulin will drop the E from his title in a few days.  He has been preparing for this day for several years and is looking forward to the 2017-2018 Rotary year!
The 6650 Rotary clubs achieved so much this year and are continuing to work on wonderful projects.  Be sure to click on the club reports and share in their successes.

48 Rotarians and friends and relatives enjoyed the Atlanta Convention.  This is a good time to save the date for the Toronto convention.  It is so close.  You can register now and also book a hotel, some of which are filling up fast.

Since we were “snowed out” for the Golf Outing to support the Women Military Veteran, the event will take place on September 18th.  The committee is hard at work.  It would be great to have at least one representative from each club on a team.  We have some great prizes, from a stay at the Avalon to a Paul Harris Fellow. Hope to see you then.

Wishing you all the best!

Hugs,
Sieglinde

District Rotary Foundation
Thank you for your generosity to the Rotary Foundation this past Rotary year.

In addition to your personal and club donations, our Paul Harris Fellow Challenge with Tim and Anna raised more than $25,000. The Rotary Foundation Centennial Celebration raised millions of dollars internationally to do the good works of the Foundation.

This year, the Foundation provided $48,000 to support 27 local Rotary club projects and $65,000 in global grants supporting PolioPlus eradication, a diabetic retinopathy center in India, the Oholi water well, toilet blocks for school children, a Vietnam water project, and a cornea treatment center in Mumbai. Visit our website to read more about these projects: www.Rotary6650.org

Rotary International Conference at the Georgia World Congress Center. More than 40,000 in attendance and I still managed to run into friends from home, from PETS, and meet new friends. Lots of information and ideas to share, so District 6650 be prepared to hear more about Rotary Global Rewards and other new and exciting promotional tools. #Rotary17.
