Fall 2017 Special Events
 
October 17th, 2017 - We collected gently worn and clean clothing and it was donated to the Hartford United Methodist Church.  Thank you to member Jean Wlodarski for coordinating this event and Thank You to all members who brought in donations.
 
October 24th, 2017 - Our Tenth Annual Dictionary Distribution to the B.E.S. 3rd Graders.  We visited three classrooms to personally give each student their own dictionary.
 
October 25, 2017 - Brookfield Township Safety Night (at Township Fire Hall) 
We again participated by conducting a "free" raffle for a carbon monoxide and smoke detector - we also distributed candy to all of the children in attendance.  New this year, in observance of World Polio Day (October 24th) we had a display of Rotary's End Polio Now Campaign and we collected money for this project to be given to Rotary's Polio Plus.
 
November 14th, 2017 - Our Tenth Annual Veterans' Appreciation Luncheon
We had 21 in attendance - we all enjoyed a delicious lunch and shared fellowship and "war stories" of every Veteran's experience and history.  Each was also interviewed and highlighted in our new local newspaper, "News on the Green"in the December 1st. print edition.
 
November 21, 2017 - Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner at the Firehall was held from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m.  Our club helped out with this event which is hosted by the Brookfield Township Outreach Association.  We helped served well over 900 meals that day, in addition our Rotary Club collected non-perishable food items that were delivered to a local food bank.
 
November 29th, 2017 - Our Club's 40th. Anniversary Dinner Party was held at Laddie's Restaurant.  We had many current and former members in attendance ( as well as a few Charter Members) along with some family members.  We shared a lot of great stories of the history of our club's activities, including fundraising, youth exchange, and work activities.
