The Rotary Club of Bolivar Zoar was a part of the Tuscarawas Valley Local Schools Back to School Blast & BBQ on Thursday, August 18 at TV Middle School with over 1,000 students and families in attendance. The annual event, now in its 10th year, is designed to unite and strengthen the entire school community as the district welcomes students and families to the start of a new school year.

To demonstrate the theme of strengthening the community, Rotarians distributed apples to participants, donated by Giant Eagle. In addition to the apples, President Joe Rinehart handed out brochures which explained the role of Rotary in the Bolivar Zoar community.

“The response of the community has been absolutely overwhelming,” said Mark Murphy, superintendent and Rotarian. “My heart is overjoyed when I see so many students, families, and members of the community all joined together for a common purpose.”  “This is why we do what we do,” Murphy expressed.  And that is why the Bolivar Zoar Rotary club does what it does.
