It’s - In Our Nature!
On Sunday, July 21, we finished hanging and displaying over 40 pieces of art donated for the auction portion of …
"In our Nature"
The Rotary Foundation Fundraiser - August 11 4-7 p.m.
Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek MetroParks in Youngstown.

I am inspired and impressed to see the time, talent, and creativity of the artists in our communities! Their work is a beautiful, visual celebration of the world we share - and the generosity of (their) nature. Not to mention, the gardens and the overlook view of Lake Glacier at Fellows Riverside Gardens is always
breathtaking! You, your club members, friends, and family are going to want to come early to give yourself time to take it all in.
This special fundraising event begins our year together as we celebrate The Rotary Foundation's newest area of focus - Protecting OUR Environment and its close link to ALL of Rotary's focus areas! Whatever your passion, the state of our environment underpins and has the power to impact all the good work we do in the world and in our own communities. "Nature" is vital to our well-being, and increasingly we need to recognize its role in creating truly sustainable and lasting change.
Come celebrate the brilliance, power, AND THE MAGIC of Rotary with me!
Tickets are $60 per person and include dinner and a cash bar.
Along with fellowship, live music by the Kentland Strings, and a curated menu, some very special Rotarians
and community partners have lent their voices to help inspire and support the work we are doing in District 6650 and our sister District in Trinidad.                     We have a District Goal of $100,000 - I am asking each club to participate by raising or donating $2,500 to this event. We need everyone to help make this fundraising event successful. As a thank-you, each club that gives a minimum of $1,000 to the event will receive Foundation Points to give a Paul Harris Fellow to a club or community member. By helping to protect our natural world, we support all areas of focus – and take action to create positive, lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves!
Proceeds from this event will help fund pollinator projects including the Pollinator Garden “The Garden with Wings” in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago and environmental projects within our district.

RI PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
 SUICIDE PREVENTION TRAINING
The Program Director at the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation (OSPF). has been working with Amy Zell, President of the Brookfield Rotary, to plan and recruit community members to attend an upcoming FREE suicide prevention training in Warren called Counseling on Access to Lethal Means (CALM) Conversations. Please feel free to share widely to anyone who may be interested in attending:
The Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation is holding a completely free suicide prevention lethal means training. Convo CALM (Counseling on Access to Lethal Means) is a shorter version of CALM that has been developed by experienced CALM trainers with both civilian and military/veteran populations from half a dozen states. It is designed specifically for presentations to general audiences with a focus on reaching gun owners and those that know gun owners. It combines traditional elements of gatekeeper training such as asking about suicide risk with a direct and collaborative discussion about the importance of means safety when risk is detected. The training reviews various options for increasing means safety and connecting the at-risk individual with more formal resources.
This training is being held at the Trumbull County Mental Health & Recovery Board from 5:30pm-7:00pm on August 14, 2024. Please click the following link for more information and how to register for free: https://mms.ohiospf.com/members/evr/reg_event.php?orgcode=ABS&evid=46713073.
