We Rotarians have a challenge. Recently before returning back from India I could take few pictures at the front door of one of our friends in Mumbai. A mother cat had just given birth to 3 kittens just few hours before Indu and I visited these friends. I had to enter their home going across the mother, who was quietly feeding 3 kittens. She was alarmed when she saw me coming closer. She put her protective arm around the babies. I understood. Entered the home of our friend quietly. And when I was leaving, an hour later, I saw only one kitten with the mama. It looked like 2 kittens were snatched away from the mother by a bobcat, who killed them. Mother cat was holding on to the remaining kitten tightly.
My Rotary friends whom I was visiting are so sweet that they had spread the Rotary comforter from their home on top of their doormat so that the mat won’t hurt the babies.
My Rotary friends had put Rotary comforter underneath for the comfort of the kittens.
When the mother saw me, she was alarmed
She did not know my intention of just taking photograph and she put protective “Arm” around her babies.
Mother has lost 2 of her kittens few minutes early, she is scared, holding the remaining kitten tight.
Now you can see the Rotary comforter clearly.
Thanks to our Rotary friends I visited, who have love for every life.
Today as Rotarians we need to extend our comforting arms around the mothers and fathers in our communities, children who are our communities future and seniors who is our wisdom. So much is snatched away from them, their loved ones, their jobs, their children’s future. We can put our arm around them, comforting them, finding the way to serve them. Our friend extended Rotary comforter to the mother cat who was hurting as everything precious to her was taken away from her. Only left was one baby trying to survive and the comforter.
We can extend District 6650 comforter to our communities!!!!
