On October 14, the ribbon was cut to celebrate the opening of the first mile of the Heartland Trail in Orrville.  Several years ago Orrville Rotary adopted the Trail as its community project and set a goal to raise $50,000 for the project.  They sponsored the local match for the trailhead restroom and information kiosk which are located near the Depot and Historical Museum in downtown Orrville.  The Heartland Trail is a section of the Ohio-to-Erie Trail.  The Heartland Trail's first mile begins at the trailhead and ends near Serpentini Chevrolet on N. Main Street.  The next phases will connect Orrville to Marshallville and then Marshallville to the Towpath in Clinton.  Orrville Rotary is excited to be involved in this important community endeavor.
