On Sunday, 9/15/19, Plain Township Rotarians, Plain Local School Employees & friends planted 20 trees at the Southwest corner of the Glenwood Middle School. 18 people of the community donated the trees. With each person/couple paying for a tree. Travis Warstler of Everlast Landscaping, and a Plain Twp Rotarian donated his expertise & time to direct the project. Plain Local, with the help of the City of Canton, Rotary & other friends has embarked on a journey to “Green” up the grounds of Glenwood. The west side of the parking lot was the first step in improving the site. Canton installed a retention basin to alleviate some of the water runoff. The future may bring a new picnic pavilion, new restrooms, concession stand, a walking/bike trail around the grounds & access to the stadium as the fence comes down. Other ideas will follow as the community decides what we do. It is amazing what people can do to make our world better. Thanks to all who participated. Life is very good when we come together.
