Champion Rotarian Paul Harris Society Fellow

Bill Bryant was recently recognized with the most prestigious Rotary distinction named for the organization founder. Paul Harris Society fellows have demonstrated a sincere and material contribution to the mission of Rotary: Service Above Self.
Mr. Bryant is a long-time Rotarian and 2017 Rotarian of the year. He has served the club and community in many capacities. In his role as club program chair he has organized many speakers who enable Rotarians to expand their breadth of knowledge on a myriad of social, professional, and business topics. Mr. Bryant is a leader among the Mobile Meals delivery program. He delivers meals and steps in to support other volunteers whenever the need arises. Mr. Bryant is a board member of Trumbull Family Fitness and he is very active in his church.
Mr. Bryant served in the United States Army and was named Honored Veteran at the Champion Senior Citizens School Advisory Council Annual Veterans Day Program.

Champion Rotary Club names Rotarian of the Year

Rex Fee, outgoing Rotary club president, 2019-2020 Rotarian of the Year: Mary Jo Ohlin. Mary Jo Ohlin, owner of MJO Photography, has built strong community relationships through both her professional and service activities.
Mary Jo has been a dedicated Rotarian from the moment she became a member. She uses her talents to bring the work of the club to the community through her camera lens. Mary Jo supports every committee in the club and has served as the club treasurer for multiple terms. Mary Jo’s family hosted a Rotary Youth Exchange student – supporting a program that builds lasting relationships with families around the world. She is currently the club’s publicity co-chair.
Mary Jo gives generously of her time and talent to activities both inside and outside the world of Rotary. She donates photos to families at Rotary’s Cookies with Santa and Identikits Safety Town participants. Mary Jo is also a dedicated supporter in the fight against Alzheimer’s Disease in many capacities and helped make the Wildare Church’s Night to Shine event a major success.
At her core, Mary Jo Ohlin is a genuine servant of her community and friend to all she encounters. Congratulations to Mary Jo Ohlin, 2019-2020, Rotarian of the Year.

Thirty years and counting

Champion Rotarian, Barb Ames was recently honored for her long service to the club and the community. Barb has been a member of the Champion Rotary Club for 30 years. She helped establish many staple programs and activities. She has been a member or a chair of several committees and has served as club president. Barb is highly active in the community. She is an avid supporter and lover of animals. She is active in 4-H and has been a co-advisor of the Silver Claws club for many years. Barb is a natural caretaker and a dedicated member. No matter the circumstance or challenge Barb always meets you with a smile and a kind word. Her dedication to the Rotary standard, Service Above Self, both inside and outside the club is an example to everyone.
