DG Dan Morgan’s Message for December

December is Disease Prevention and Treatment Month

“Disease results in misery, pain, and poverty for millions of people worldwide. That’s why treating and preventing disease is so important to us. We lead efforts both large and small. We set up temporary clinics, blood donation centers, and training facilities in underserved communities struggling with outbreaks and health care access. We design and build infrastructure that allows doctors, patients, and governments to work together. Our members combat diseases like malaria, HIV/AIDS, Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, and polio. Prevention is important, which is why we also focus on health education and bringing people routine hearing, vision, and dental care.”

We all can be very proud to be part of such a tremendous initiative to help mankind live longer and healthier lives. Only together can we be powerful enough to make such a difference. Thanksgiving reminds us to pause and be grateful for our blessings. You are making a big difference in the world and we all should be so proud of what we are accomplishing through Rotary. Your gift of life is a gift that is given 365 days a year.  Thank you for your impact upon the world.

I am closing in on the end of my visits. I have been very touched by your kindness and hard work. Whether you are a small, medium, or large club we are blessed by each and every one of you! We are so fortunate to have so many enthusiastic Rotarians in our District.

Many Clubs have auctioned off their wine. Please remember this wine consistently earns 91 to 92 points by Wine Spectator. Please make your check out to the Rotary Foundation and sign the Contribution Form in the bag. The check and form are to be given to Lauri Coy for proofing and tallying. We will process it for you! Have fun, be generous, and remember your contributions are saving lives.

A special wish of health and happiness upon you this Holiday season. May you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous New Year. One of our wishes in 2020 is to provide you with the best Rotary Experience possible.

Abundant Blessings                  DG Dan Morgan

Community Service Holiday Minutes

Q: How does The Rotary Foundation relate to The Community Service?

A: One cannot separate The Foundation from Rotary clubs’ service to their communities.

We are proud to be members of our Rotary clubs. We come together and enjoy serving together. We are better together when we serve together and make a difference. Many of our clubs have their own foundations. They have their creative ways of fund raising events. We Rotarians work with the school children, we care about them, we mentor them. We feed the hungry, we help homeless by supporting the shelters. We contribute to many not-for- profit organizations in our communities, we work with other foundations in  our communities and try to Make A Difference!

There is inseparable Connection of Rotary’s service to The Rotary Foundation, the foundation we are so proud to call our Ohio Rotarian Arch Klumph to be Father Of, is the Heart and the pulse of our Rotary life.
