September 2024
As I continue to visit Clubs throughout our Rotary District, I have a sense that I may not be able to visit all 45. If I do not have an opportunity to visit with everyone, I nevertheless want ALL clubs included in District-wide incentives for this Rotary year.

The “DG line” and others on the district leadership team have several long and short-term goals - one of which is to update and recreate our history.
It has been 10 years since the Clubs in D6650 collected and compiled our histories into one book.
Each Club is invited and encouraged to gather the past 10 years of their histories and submit their updated stories to me (emstrupkus6650@gmail.com) in a Word format by March 15, 2025.
The goal is to have an updated D6650 History book completed by the District Conference on May 24, 2025.

Other goals include:
  • Operation Pollination” - all of us working together to improve and restore a vibrate eco-corridor throughout our 10 counties (with a prize to be awarded at District Conference to the club that earns the most points)
  • Becoming a 100% Peace-Builder District - one club at a time
  • Using the Action Plan to meet RIP Stephanie Urchick’s challenge of growing our District membership by 100 and adding 4 new clubs (!),
  • Continued learning and leadership development,
  • and – we want to celebrate our accomplishments:
  • DON’T FORGET to enter your club goals in the new Rotary Service Project Center once you sign into My Rotary https://www.rotary.org/en.

I look forward to talking with every club but because a District Governor may not know or can do everything, one of my personal goals is to promote the District Chair people.

These individuals are the subject experts and they welcome an invitation to speak with your Club:
Environment Chair - Christine Cope
Rotary Leadership Institute Chair - PDG Larry Warren
Membership Chair - Maureen Drummond
Peace Chair - Msgr. Robert Siffrin
The Rotary Foundation Chair - Linda Henderson

International Day of Peace
Every year, on 21 September, the world comes together to observe the International Day of Peace, a day dedicated to strengthening the values of peace and non-violence as declared by the United Nations General Assembly. As we mark this day, we also find ourselves at the midpoint of our journey toward achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals, which provide a roadmap towards a more peaceful world by addressing global challenges such as poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, and peace and justice. Our collective task is to work together to accomplish these goals by 2030, and the Rotary community stands at the forefront of these efforts, with the Rotary Action Group for Peace (RAGFP) playing a vital role.
